Deltek Vision is the leading ERP for AEC firms and we offer a purpose-built integration tool that allows you to connect your project data in Deltek Vision with your project photos in OpenAsset. With the click of a button, you can synchronise data between the two systems, allowing you to create a searchable image library that uses Deltek Vision as the single source of project information.

In this blog we outline some of the key benefits of the Deltek Vision Connector and the ways in which our clients have benefited from using this tool.

Creating a Searchable Image Library

The Deltek Vision Connector is built into OpenAsset, which makes the process of mapping fields between the two systems straightforward. This will enable you to leverage your existing project information and keywords in OpenAsset without the need for extensive configuration. Straight away, your users will be able to use the powerful OpenAsset search engine to find and use images.

Dewberry

It’s actually a lot easier to search in OpenAsset than it is in Vision. For example, if I need to get a project’s description, I find it easier to look the project up in OpenAsset and get to the description that way rather than trying to go into Vision. In OpenAsset you can start typing in either the project number or the name of the project and the search bar will auto-populate some options for you to find what you’re looking for.

Consistent Project Information

As a project-based DAM, OpenAsset is structured in a way that will be familiar to users of Deltek Vision. Project names, codes and keywords are transferable between Deltek Vision and OpenAsset, which makes the process of learning to use a new system much easier for users. This also ensures that the way you organize and manage project images and information is consistent across your organization.

Power Engineers

Since our keyword structure is replicated from Deltek Vision, everybody knew it, it made sense, it was already understood, and we didn’t have to do a lot of re-work. It made a lot of sense to just bring that information along into OpenAsset and it works very well for us today.

Affiliated Engineers

For each project in Deltek Vision we already had client and project names and numbers, and by having the same information in OpenAsset it just linked everything together. Everything has a common name. We speak in acronyms a lot, so it helps with consistency. We’re not having to enter all the information again manually.

Document Creation

OpenAsset works seamlessly with publishing tools like InDesign and PowerPoint, allowing you to drag images straight from a browser into your documents. Using customisable templates, marketing teams can create formatted project sheets and bid proposal documents at the press of a button. The Deltek Vision Connector enables you to combine project information from Deltek Vision with photos from OpenAsset to quickly create InDesign or PowerPoint documents.

Sundt Construction

With a few clicks of a button, we can create project profile templates that pull in project details from Deltek Vision and images from OpenAsset. Our business development staff really loves the self-service aspect of the templates in OpenAsset. It allows us to customize media packages really quickly.
