With over 15 years of experience in AEC marketing and a passion for transforming the profession, Rachelle brings a wealth of expertise and a fresh perspective to this pivotal role.
Rachelle’s journey into AEC marketing began serendipitously.
“I never planned on becoming an AEC marketer. Like many in this field, I ‘fell’ into marketing by chance. As a college freshman working as an office intern for a local architect, I was handed my first RFP with zero training and a stack of old proposals as my only guide. It was overwhelming, but something about the challenge lit a spark.”
That spark ignited a career dedicated to proposals, pursuit strategy, and the relentless pursuit of improving how AEC marketers work. Throughout her career, Rachelle has witnessed and experienced the hurdles facing AEC marketers firsthand.
“The path wasn’t easy. I started in a small firm with no resources, built my processes through trial and error, and later joined a much larger company where I finally had access to the tools and support I’d craved. Yet even there, the challenges persisted. The workloads were heavy, data was scattered, and burnout was everywhere.”
These challenges inspired Rachelle to take action. She began consulting to alleviate the burdens on fellow marketers, sharing best practices, and promoting sustainable work practices.
“That mission has shaped every step of my career,” Rachelle explains, “from co-founding Proposal Industry Experts to speaking out about the challenges AEC marketers face. I wanted to equip them with the tools, skills, and resources to thrive in their careers. To help them push back against burnout and build a sustainable path forward.”
Rachelle’s new role at OpenAsset represents the culmination of her mission to revolutionize AEC marketing.
“Having consulted with this team for years, I’ve been continually impressed by their thoughtful approach and willingness to listen to the challenges AEC marketers face. Most importantly, I know how deeply they care about solving the issues that hold marketers back,” Rachelle shares. “To be part of a team that’s leading such meaningful change in the industry is an incredible opportunity.
